First things first. I did NaNo this year and won! I worked on a story idea I’ve had on the back burner for a couple of years. 2017 has been a lot of bad things, but for me, this last third has been a bit better. I’ve been able to write, and rediscovered my love for creating.

Writing is one of those things that is always there. You can pour as much into it as you make time for, as your brain has room for… or you can leave it there on the back burner when life takes a huge dump right where and when you don’t want it to.

For me, writing is a constant. It’s a comfort place, sort of like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Supernatural, or Dr Who. I lost it for a while due to extenuating circumstances. Words spoken harshly can really do a number on your brain, especially as a creative person, and it took me two and a half years to get over them — to be able to write again, to find new worlds again. Editing existing words was never the problem.

So here I am, back at it. After a hard year or so of life, with family illness and diagnosis, back surgeries and the general things life throws at us — my mindset is calmer, more peaceful, more open to the worlds in my head. I’ve pushed aside certain misconceptions about writing which made it even more difficult to write, and I’m going with my gut.

Instead of plotting everything in detail, I’ve been pantsing and it’s a beautiful thing. Just letting my mind make twists and turns all on its own. It’s like discovering the worlds and people as I go. It’s a new lease on writing life for me, and I plan to take it by the horns.

To that extent, and being as reinvigorated as I am, I’m planning to do two blog posts a month, and help my friends spread word about their own book releases, and have a what are you reading section once a month, with a couple of reviews. Nothing huge, and not spammy, but genuine book loving stuff!

Rediscovering my love of books, of words, of worlds… has made me want to share it all the more.

To celebrate this Chameleon will be free from December 2nd through to December 6th. Hybrid and Parasite will be $0.99. If you haven’t already got them, now is the time!

I have 3 releases planned tentatively for 2018 and I can’t WAIT to share them with you!

Thanks for sticking around. I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of my journey.
