One year ago today – I decided to start a writing blog. Not just one that I’d update intermittently, but a real blog.
Today is my 1 year Blog-iversary!
A lot has happened in the last year. I’ve written lots of first drafts, polished one of those to death, got an agent and gone on submission.
I’ve made some fantastic friends through twitter, and touched base with many budding authors – some who’ve recently signed with agents, others who’ve polished their work and released it themselves, and others who are still working on their craft.
Not to mention #writemotivation – which started as a cheering thing, and has become a part of my daily routine. Love you guys.
So, I’m celebrating.
My fantastic agent Judith Engracia of Liza Dawson Associates has agreed to give a random winner a query critique. She is passionate, meticulous, and very insightful.
There is one condition for entry.
People who enter have to be in the query process or about to start the query process.
But that’s it!
Help me share the blog-iversary love. Tweet, Facebook, G+ it – do whatever. Enter with Rafflecopter below 😀

Happy Blog-iversary!! Sounds like you’ve had a very eventful year. Here’s to many, many more! 🙂
Not entering, since I’m still drafting and not to querying just yet. But WHOOHOOO! *sings* Happy blogiversary to you! Happy blogiversary to you! Eat lots of cake, happy blogiversary to you! *blows party horn*
*grins* Glad you like. 🙂
I’m a little ways from entering the query process myself so I’m not entering the critique giveaway for I think it’s awesome for your agent to do this!!
Congrats on the first year of blogging. May each day build upon more good blogging times to come.
I’m querying. I’ve entered a few pitch contests and had some ups and downs with that. 🙂
Happy blogiversary!
Happy blog-iversary! 🙂 I’ve just started the querying process. I’m not sure there’s anything I find particularly daunting, except maybe playing the waiting game. There’s a lot of uncertainty, but I suppose that’s just the nature of the writing biz.
Happy Blog-iver-sa-birthday! YAY! Still not “there” yet. But awesome prize! I’ll keep plugging away in the mean time! <3 to your agent, Miss Jude. 🙂
Awe shucks! I won’t be in the query process for another 6 months!! But awesome giveaway, good luck to all those who enter. And a huge congrats on such a successful year KT!!
I’m deep in the query trenches, and all these contests are great for helping get our work out there and read by agents! Thanks for offering a query critique and happy blog-iversary 😀
Entered, followed, tweeted, etc. We can all use an extra set of eyes on those all-important query letters.
I think the hardest thing about querying is the waiting. I hate not knowing, even if it means a rejection 🙂
Happy Blogiversary!
I could use all the help I can get on my query, lol.
Thanks so much for hosting this contest! I’ve only been querying a short time, but I’ll take any help I can get.
I’ve been querying for a few months, with some nibbles here and there. Always wondering if I can improve the query so definitely would love to get the critique. Thanks for such an awesome opportunity!
Happy Blogiversary!
I’m in the middle of querying my steampunk MS, it’s like blind dating. The rush of excitement, the spectacular letdowns and sometimes the spark ignites and you bite your nails waiting to see how it develops 🙂
I’m in the thick of the query process and any critique or thoughts would help tons. It’s a daunting task, but so worth it. Happy blogoversary and thank you for doing this awesome giveaway!!
How exciting, and congrats on your blog-iversary! I am in the querying process, hoping to interest an agent soon 🙂
Happy blog-iversary!
I’m ready to start the querying process, as soon as I swallow my fear of putting my work out there. I promised my daughter that if she conquered her fear and tried diving at the pool the other day, I’d swallow my fear and start submitting my manuscript. She took a deep breath and dove in… Now I’m getting ready to “dive in” as well 🙂
I’m in the query process – and trying to stay positive. I’d love to know what I can do to strengthen my query. I read the submission info and blogs of each agent, but I’m not sure I’m pulling it off. Would love some help! And I’ll be pulling for all of the writers I’ve met. They are amazing. 🙂
I’m currently querying, and I have to say it is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done.
I’m currently querying, and I have to say that the entire process in terrifying!
Happy Blogiversary!
Finding #WriteMotivation is one of the best things I’ve stumbled across on Twitter! <333
great contest! Happy Blogiversary!
I’m just starting the query process. I have some requests from pitch contests/conferences, but only now starting to do actual queries, so I could use the feedback!
Happy Blog-iversary. How awesome!
Happy Blog-iversary! It’s been such a treat getting to know you this past year 🙂
Happy Blog-iversary!! Congrats to a successful year and many more to come! Thank you for hosting this contest. Best, Stacy
Happy Blogaversary! 🙂 What a nice, giving idea 🙂 Entered your contest. Best of luck to everyone!
Every time I query, I feel like “this is the one!” and so far I’ve been wrong. This time I feel a smidge more confident since I met some of the agents in person at a pitching luncheon…but still. Completely nervous. Preparing myself for rejection, even thug I feel in the depths of my soul that this is the best book I’ve ever written.
congratulations on your blogiversary! i am so glad i met you through #writemotivation. i’m currently just getting started with the querying process. i have some current submissions out right now and am waiting anxiously to hear back on some requested partials. i know it’s only the beginning and i am learning as i go. great idea for a contest! i’ve already sent the tweet around.
Happy Blog-iversary and congratulations on your journey! It’s amazing what a difference a year can make. What does next year hold in store?
I’m so close to the query process…hoping to start by the end of the summer. So freaking nervous!
I’m querying! It’s not a fast process, but these contests make the wait a bit easier 🙂
Thanks for running this!
New blog follower here! Nice to meet you 🙂 I love the sound of this contest and am always looking for ways to improve my query letter. I’ve queried a few agents over the past month or so and plan to keep going!
HAPPY BLOG-IVERSARY!!! *throws confetti*
Oooh look Cookies … did the dinosaur cheerleaders make these?
I’m not quite in the query process but I shared it to Facebook for others who may be.
Congrats on getting so much done! Keep up the good work.

Happy 1 year Blog-iversary!
I’m currently querying and it is definitely a process. What works for one agent doesn’t appeal to another. It’s all about finding the right match.
Woo! Happy blogaversary, K.T.! I haven’t been around much (working on the next novel), but thought I’d stop by and sai HAI! I hope you’re feeling better and that all is going well in your world!
I’ve finally started querying- lots of stress but very exciting. Entering contests like these is my new hobby. 🙂
I have (Unsuccessfully – lots of requests, no offers) queried one manuscript and am JUST ABOUT to start querying another. 🙂
I’m about to enter the query trenches once again. Contests like this actually make querying fun!
After spending the last 2 1/2 years working on my novel, I’m just starting the query process, which in a way is much more daunting. I’m looking for all the helpful advice and critique I can get! Thanks so much for this contest.
Happy 1 year Blog-iversary! And thank you for the opportunity. Happy writing to all 🙂
I have just begun querying my current ms, but have queried a different ms in the past. Yes, it is daunting. I questioned whether I wanted to do it again, but I’ll never know unless I try. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right? 🙂
