This last week has been super hectic for me. So much, that I wish I had a Tardis of my very own. No, seriously, I do. Or maybe even a Time-turner would do.
I’m still fighting to get through the 384 flash fiction pieces in the Writer Campaign. You’d think getting through that many 200 word stories would be easy. But that is a decent sized book.
After all, it’s approximately 76800 words. Not that this usually stops me, I can read way too fast for my own good – however, that’s in a one story omg must find out situation. This 200 word tidbits and glimpses into worlds I can’t delve into more is excruciating! I want to know more – 200 words is just NOT ENOUGH for my brain to handle.
Well, that and I have a chapter to critique and two books to read for crit partners. Not to mention work that sabotages 45 hours of my week, my husband, my own outlining, my dogs and my working out? Hi Time – can I have that Tardis, please? I will eventually make it through all the flash fiction – I WILL!
Now, imagine my surprise to receive a couple of awards over the last few days.
I received the Versatile blogger from A.E. Martin – Thank you SO much! and also from Isis Rushdan
I also received the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award from Isis as well. Thank you so much again!
I must confess, I am a tad confused – as both came with different directions. One to pass on to 15! and one to pass onto 5. I will endeavor to pass it on to many – but here are the guidelines I’m using for the Sweet and Versatile Awards respectively:
1. Thank and link to the person who nominates you
2. Share seven random facts about you
3. Pass this award to five new blogging friends
4. Contact and congratulate the awarded bloggers
1. Thank and link to the person who nominates you
2. Share seven random facts about you
3. Pass this Award along to 15 recently discovered blogs and let them know about it!
I contemplated doing 14 facts, but a) no one needs to know that much about me and b) I really couldn’t come up with another 7 that weren’t TMI :p
Here are seven random facts about me:
1. My Father is German, my mother is British and I was born in Brisbane Australia, got married in 2007 and now live in Kansas, USA.
2. My favourite pizza is pepperoni + fresh tomato + anchovies with as little cheese as possible. I love cheese, just not melted or hot, and I ADORE Anchovies. Anchovies with smoked salmon, pizza, Caesar Salads… mmmm Anchovies
3. I don’t smoke and I drink maybe once or twice a year. My one vice is coffee – and I’m not giving it up any time soon.
4. I love Star Trek, in all its forms (except maybe that 70’s animated version – I mean, really?) Data is my favorite, followed closely by the Doctor in Voyager and Phlox in Enterprise. And then there’s Kirk… who doesn’t love Kirk, right?
5. I love anime. Lots of anime. But, I’m very picky about anime too – good thing there’s so much of it.
6. I’ve never been to a writer’s convention and would seriously like to rectify this oversight. Soon. A.S.A.P. Yesterday.
7. When I was 12 I ‘fell’ onto the foot of my bed from the top of my wardrobe. I broke my 9th left rib, bruised my kidney, liver, bladder (yes, pretty much everything) and almost ruptured my spleen. I woke up after two days to a room full of people in white coats. Yep, one day I’ll make a novel out of that… and yeah we were jumping from the wardrobe and bouncing off the bed… The things we do as children.
My 5 for the Sweet Blogger Award:
1. Lisa M Potts
2. CherylAnne Ham
3. Angela Brown
4. Susie Medwell
5. Bethany Lopez
Here are 15 for the Versatile Blogger Award
1. Candy Fite

That’s it! I’m about posted out for the day. It was really hard to narrow the blogs down, I’ve found so many great ones and mean no offense to ones I may not have included. I did try to find ones that didn’t already have the awards, at least that I could see. I’ll be popping in and informing everyone a little later on.
Again, thanks for the awards and thank you to everyone partaking in this Writer’s Campaign. It’s turning out to be pretty freaking amazing!
Australia is on my list of places to go one day, as is New Zealand. If I could write fulltime and travel that would be *da bomb*. π Enjoyed reading your facts and yepper, you wouldn’t believe some of the things i did as a kid. π I included a link to my facebook page : 25 Random Things about Kandie. You may have to be signed in to see it though. Have a good one!

Ack! I’ll have to find you on FB when I get home and send you a friend’s request. π
Australia is beautiful, I miss it. If you get the chance to go – don’t hesitate1
Awww, it’s nice to know someone thinks I’m irresistibly sweet! Congrats on the awards and thanks for passing this one on to me.
Thank you π
I’ve come across so many blogs in the last couple of weeks – I remembered yours π
Thank you so much for the award! I’ve already received it (and I just posted ten things) but it was fun reading your list π (Plus, Jocelyn Rish is awesome – she was one of my critters before she got all busy making MOVIES. <3)
And I'm so glad you said you love Data! I FOUND A DATA PONY! It's going to be featured on Oct 30th π
Aww π I looked for the award icon and didn’t see it on your blog. But I LOVE your blog!
A Data MLP!!!! DATA! On Oct 30! My birthday is on the 21st – that’s like the best ever belated birthday present! I will scour for this post lol!
I don’t have the graphics up, but if you click the Blog Awards category link it’s in there somewhere π
My birthday is the 21st! Yay for both being born in October!
Ahh – that’s why I didn’t see it π
21st? Seriously? Not kidding, right? Same date as mine lol! That’s priceless. BEST BIRTHDATE EVAH!
Love that you might write a book about your accident. Yes, we do crazy things when we’re children! ; )
I was thinking it would be an awesome way to have a coma patient! Jumping off the bed lol!
Thanks for the award, K.T.!!! And also thank you for stopping by my blog, commenting and following. I look forward to getting to know you through the campaign!
π I hope you enjoy passing it on. I found it a lot of fun. Really looking forward to the rest of the campaign.
My goodness. What do you do in your spare time? π
Wait, what? Spare time? Spare time exists? Nooooo – I need to find some! Elusive mythical creature!
I’m an anime lover too! and wow at number 7…kids really do some reckless things, I have many a scar that testify to that!
I love anime, but I am really picky lol. And I get so annoyed by filler episodes!
Yeah, I was an … adventurous child haha
It’s amazing any of us survive to adulthood. I’ll bet you gave your parents a lot of gray hair. π
Yeah, I think my dad was already getting grey hair when I was born… but woah did I ever not help lol!
Thanks so much for the award, K.T.! I’m honored! One of my seven facts was that I lived in Sydney for a semester. I briefly visited Brisbane (and I even know how to pronounce it the correctly!) on one of my whirlwind trips around Oz.
Yay! Someone who knows Brisbane haha π Well, a lot do since the floods, but before then, no one did π I love my Country and miss it, but my husband is definitely worth the move.
Time travel would be awesome! Or just freezing time while finishing up projects…*sigh*
I can’t believe how much damgage you were able to do to yourself just by jumping from the wardrobe to your bed! 0.0
Anyway, thank you for the award! I will have to try and think about some interesting things to list about myself. π Lol!
sorry i’m so slow!
thanks for the award! that was very sweet of you =)
no wonder you got the sweetie award too!
No need to be sorry π I loved your blog, so it was a natural conclusion. It’s so hard to pick blogs though – there are so many great ones I’ve seen on this campaign
Thanks for the awards and for visiting my blog – really appreciate your lovely comments. This week has been chaos so not posted up but will be doing soon!
You’re very, very welcome π I’m glad you like it. And take your time – we have precious little of it!
And the award circles back! Or doubles. Well, whatever it does, I’ve chosen your blog for the Versatile Blogger Award. Here is round two (or three, or – whatever) if you want it π
